Still going around the same old mountians I realised today. Guess I'm going to keep going around the mountain until I learn what I need to learn and God does what He needs to do in my character and conduct. You think after 3 years I would be getting closer though ...

Life is about learning... not so much about knowing what to do, but doing it. Reading the bible and doing nothing about it afterwards doesn't make you a better Christian or spiritual... just like reading books on medicine doesn't make you a specialist, but when a patient is in desperate need of medical attention in the operating room awaiting surgery, you need to reflect hard and fast upon the knowledge and save the patient to the best care that you can offer. Now it can be argued, 'But that's the thing... What in the blazes am I to do in my life?' – simply speaking, the LORD will reveal more, as we search Him in our daily lives, when the time is right and when He believes you are ready for the next thing, whatever that may be. Now, remember, the 'next thing' doesn't need to be big, it can be subtle or really obscure. Often, we look for the big things from God that we neglect the basic things around us, a bit like our prayers - we pray for something big like getting a summer job, but how often do we thank God for our health each day? For example, a local church band feels they want to go global and be the next big Christian band. Personally, the next thing to do would be to reach the unreached in the local community through the music, be it village, town or city. Why focus on the Christian community who are already saved, when the folk locally need to hear the same message, but in a modern medium, where there are elements of a song that folk can connect with, whether it's lyrics, vocals, rhythm, etc. Knowledge alone is useless. Application from one's knowledge takes you one step closer to your goal (if you want to believe there’s a goal as such), but Christians often believe that we have a physical goal that God expects from us, but personally, I believe He wants us to learn in our process of learning and living through life, which is where we need to learn to rely on Him as our beacon of light in this troubled world. This process of learning God's will is a lifetime commitment. It's not something that we can attain from the shops so to speak. This is how we grow more mature in the LORD, as we seek Him with passion and apply in our action, our response of our love for Him. Once we learn how to do that, perhaps people will take notice of our renewed attitudes of life and ask why we choose to follow this bright light... <><
